Cosmetic Acupuncture

Cosmetic acupuncture is a non-invasive treatment that involves using acupuncture to improve skin and fight the ageing process. Proponents claim that cosmetic acupuncture can help reduce wrinkles, diminish fine lines, remove age spots, and lift droopy eyelids.

Acupuncture stimulates the natural production of collagen. The insertion of the tiny needles creates a type of "micro trauma" which initiates a healing response and collagen production.

Through a micro-wound healing response, it addresses multiple factors of ageing – from smoothing lines, to enhancing the firmness and volume of skin.

Acupuncture can also increase oxygenation levels though microcirculation which can aid detoxification and help prevent facial puffiness.

Facial rejuvenation acupuncture can influence the health of the skin, working on more than just the superficial signs of premature ageing.

Crystal Gua Sha massage is used alongside acupuncture to relax the facial muscles and increase the flow of blood to the skin,  bringing red & white blood cells to the skin whilst stimulating the production of collagen in order to rebuild the skin.

3 Step Process.

1. Rejuvenate

Before we begin treating the face, fine needles are inserted on the hands and feet to create a grounded and relaxed feeling. Whilst you lay back and let the needles do their work, you have the added option of listening to some anti-ageing self-hypnosis at the same time.

2. Tighten & lift

Heat is said to shrink collagen, thus creating a more tightened and lifted appearance. To get this effect we use a warming massage tool which creates a very enjoyable and nurturing sensation.

3. Lymphatic flush

We finish off using a crystal gua sha tool or crystal roller to massage the skin which increases the micro-circulation, boosts the complexion and flushes the lymphatics in the face.

Treatment Frequency.

OPTION 1: WEEKLY

If you have a particular area of your appearance that you want to work on, weekly treatments are recommended for 8-10 treatments.

OPTION 2: OCCASIONAL TREAT

You may wish to give yourself an occasional treat every month or couple of months for maintenance or before a big event.
